Tell us about you and your business.
I developed a love for art when I was in pre-k. My work is inspired by travel, culture, movement, and patterns. Using bright colors and bold brushwork, my goal is to inspire others and spread joy, and be a light for Jesus. I combine realism with abstraction, establishing vibrant mixtures and playful elements throughout each of my paintings. My business started in highschool. My aunt was an interior designer and hired me to paint scripture on her client's walls. I was a full time artist after college. I started painting weddings when I was asked by a close friend to try it out at her wedding. Weddings are always so much fun and filled with happiness, and it was a no-brainer for me to keep booking them.
What is your favorite thing about painting weddings?
My favorite thing about painting weddings is meeting new people, experiencing the joy of getting married all over again through my couples, and getting to know and work with so many amazing vendors.
What does a live painter do?
A live painter captures your chosen special moment with all the color and sweet wedding details and paints it on canvas. I either paint the first dance, wedding ceremony, or a pose of the couple in front of the venue (for those brides who choose first look photos).
Why hire a live wedding painter?
A live painter captures your most special day/moment in the most artistic and unique way. We try to take all of the excitement, color, and feel, and put it all into our brushstrokes to create a forever keepsake.
I'm getting a photographer and/or videographer. Do I still need this?
Nothing can replace a photographer or videographer. But a live artist is a totally unique treasure to have at your wedding. And it's so entertaining for guests to watch and be wowed at the start to finish process throughout the night.
How does the painting process work?
I show up at the venue 2 hours before start time to set up and get a feel for the space. Then I start painting in the background so that the guests have something to look at when they enter the venue. I'm usually there until I complete the painting, unless I have to take it home for more detail work.
How long can a couple expect a painting to take?
A live painting can take 3-8 hours depending on the size and detail work involved!
