A Glamorous Black-Tie Wedding Weekend on the Crystal Coast

Katelyn and Tyson are so in love, they tied the knot twice! Once in a COVID ceremony of immediate family only and then again in this glamorous black-tie wedding on the Crystal Coast captured by Cynthia Rose Photography. Although the pandemic made planning harder than expected, the couple didn’t skip a beat with the help of event planner Casey Harris of Events by La Fete. From a meaningful ceremony at First United Methodist Church to show-stopping florals by The French Bee Design and Events and every detail in between, we instantly feel for this adorable duo and their wedding weekend!

“After three years of dating, Tyson proposed in August 2019 and we began to plan our dream wedding weekend on the Crystal Coast. I had always dreamed of being married in my grandparent’s church since I was a little girl and having all of our friends & family from out of town together at the Crystal Coast to experience my favorite little coastal town. I am originally from Winston-Salem but spent all of my summers in Morehead City with my grandparents who live on Bogue Sound, and Tyson is originally from Duplin County—not too far from the Crystal Coast.

When COVID hit, we decided to reschedule our large celebration but knew we wanted to go ahead and get married. We planned a small, micro-wedding with just close family at the Beaufort Hotel and rescheduled our original plans for our large wedding celebration to July 24, 2021, so we could celebrate with ALL of our friends & family.

With the help of our amazing vendors, we were able to plan the wedding weekend of our dreams with a welcome party at Jack’s Waterfront Bar to kick off the weekend followed by our wedding day. We had Pastor Powell, who originally married us on 8/22/2020, “bless our marriage” at First United Methodist Church in Morehead City and then hosted the reception at The Coral Bay Club at Atlantic Beach. There were trolleys that picked guests up at their hotels and took them to all festivities and brought them back at the end of the evening.

Casey Harris with Events by La Fete and her assistant made the entire weekend flow seamlessly and everything was in the best order—from Friday night to Sunday morning. Anne Griggs and her team at The French Bee Design and Events outdid themselves and exceeded expectations with the floral designs and the Coral Bay Club.
